As cliché as it sounds, my iPhone holds a special place in my heart. It isn’t just any iPhone; it’s an iPhone 5s from 2013; despite being four years old, it’s still functioning the same way it functioned the first day. When I look at it, I think about all the things we’ve lived through; parties, dinners, runs, gym sessions, heartbreak, happy moments, travels, etc. This phone has been with me since my senior year of high school and is still with me in my junior year of college. This phone had a short 6-month break when I was upgraded to an iPhone 6; unfortunately, I lost this phone and my parents refused to buy me a new one so I was back to my good old phone. Every time someone notices that I still use an iPhone 5, they can’t believe it, people see it as a prehistoric object compared to their iPhones 7. What they don’t know, is how my phone has been so loyal, it’s screen has never been shattered and it basically hasn’t aged a day. I have a food Instagram account, and people believe my pictures are taken with a professional camera, but what they don’t know is that those pictures are taken with my prehistoric iPhone 5.  I hope it stays with me a while longer so we can make more memories together.
