I was lucky enough to be invited to a smoothie class. The smoothie “chef” Anjany, was kind enough to invite me and my roommate to her house and teach us some tips and tricks on making the perfect smoothie. Anjany graduated from a vegetarian culinary school in New York where she learned everything about making animal-friendly plates. During the class, she showed us ways to incorporate vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower into a chocolate smoothie. At first, I thought this was disgusting, but then I found out frozen vegetables lose much of their taste, so you won’t even taste it in a smoothie. She also talked about adding superfoods and supplements to smoothies to make them extra nutritious to our body. It was a great experience to be able to learn from someone who is passionate about food, but also about the well-fare of animals and the planet.
